By-laws
The Local By-laws [pdf] have been reviewed and approved by the membership and CUPE National.
PREAMBLE:
The membership directs the business of the Local through its regular meetings and such special meetings as may be called from time to time. Emergency situations are dealt with under By-laws Section 4 b). The Executive Committee (hereinafter referred to as the “Local Executive”) directs the business of the Local between General Membership Meetings and reports to the membership.
Sections of these By-laws are to be read in conjunction with Articles of the CUPE Constitution. The following is adopted by the Local pursuant to, and to supplement, Appendix "B" of the CUPE Constitution, to safeguard the rights of all members, to provide for responsible administration of the Local, and to involve as many members as possible through the sharing of duties and responsibilities.
