CUPE 2278 is organizing Research Assistants, Work Learn students, and more!

Some very exciting news out of our sibling local over at CUPE 2278: they have begun a campaign to have the remaining student workers who aren’t covered by a collective agreement to join their union! The campaign officially began at the start of the month, but the kick-off was on Imagine Day and the reception has been incredible – with some nice coverage by the Ubyssey. If you want to learn more, head on over to their websitesign up to help, or give them a follow on social media.

Let’s cook club!

CUPE 2950 members Hema Ratnasami and Chloe Martin-Cabanne invite you to register for the University Neighbourhood Association’s community cooking workshop. There’s a potluck after each class!

The event is held on the last Tuesday of every month starting in September. For more information on location, dates and time, click and register now via UNA.

BIOPIC Caucus Survey

We are preparing for CUPE 2950’s inaugural BIPOC Caucus and would love for you to complete a survey so that we can schedule our first BIPOC Caucus that is convenient for our members in terms of times and days.

All allies are welcome! The BIPOC caucus is a social support group that includes our fellow allies where we have a safe space to be heard and provide a support system that discusses about our work environments and how we can work together to improve and break barriers on systemic issues, navigate and support everyone for an equitable career advancement and an overall supportive environment to listen to each others’ lived experiences and issues while getting to know one another. As a collective, we can brainstorm and navigate our spaces effectively.
